During October, we headed up to Boreen Point on Lake Cootharaba (just north of Noosa) for a 3 night weekend with members of our Church community.
It was another opportunity to shake-down some extra mods/builds I had done on the camper.
Susan had suggested to build a pantry for the camper, and also built a box to store my solar panels on the roof-rack basket.
Check out the mods here –>; (to be added)
We left home midday Friday and arrived abut 4pm. We where one of the first there and with helps of others, picked a spot close to the beach where the 8 members could setup together.
The afternoon was fantastic – nice and warm and not a breathe of wind. The lake is 10 km long and 5 km wide, and apparently you can walk from one side to the other without getting your hair wet!
That Friday night (or should I say early Saturday morning) Charlie woke up and was sick everywhere. After cleaning up several times during the night/early morning, I decide to stay up from 4am to catch the sunrise. This time of year in Queensland that’s about 4:30 am! It was a fantastic sight.
Susan had booked Charlotte and I for horse riding about 30 minutes away on Saturday morning. We headed off not sure whether Charlotte was well enough to ride. She desperately wanted to go, but was sick again not long after we got there. After speaking to the company, we decided I would go for the two hour booked ride, and we would bring back Charlotte the next day for an hour ride.
It was a nice ride (I hadn’t ridden for about 5 years). The ride takes us through a Conservation Park around Lake Weyba. Some parts the horses have to wade out through the water to get past creek inlets. The next day, Charlotte was better and she got her turn. She loved and all was happy.
Most of the group packed up on the Sunday and headed back, but as Charlotte had a student free day at school for the Monday, we stayed the extra night. By Monday morning, Susan wasn’t feeling the best, so we packed up early and headed on home.
